Grabbing some action before the summer drought takes hold
Ages since I have had any contact with mud - in fact the first time this century! And a bad time to get horny - there has been no rain for a month. But careful perusal of the OS map identified the lowest points and a recce. did indeed turn up some servicable pools.
I wanted to start rehearsing a story video I am planning. With midsummer past and hot days, an after-work trip seemed the best option. Still didn't leave much time with a long drive and a mile and a half walk to get there - so the pics. on my profile show that it was a bit hurried. My main character will do a face-plant (actually not including the face - it is too disgusting for that, but a frontal splat). I was a bit nervous, but I didn't want to waste the opportunity. A bit of a run, trip - splat! Excellent! the location is ideal for the story - the very dirty mud will get the character well covered from a quick, supposedly unintentional
dunking.
After taking a few more pictures I could see that it would soon be dark. The pictures don't show it because the camera corrects the exposure - I think by extending the exposure because several of the pictures had considerable motion blur although I don't remember moving about.
A nice warm evening to wash off and pack up, and the June night sky light enough so that I didn't need the head torch (good because the batteries were dead!) Brilliant experience that I won't forget any time soon - not entirely from choice - I still can't quite wash away the stink of the mud!
