A19 Mud Hole
Next to the A19 between Thornaby & Middlesbrough (soundbound) there is a rather silted up mud hole that once carryied any wash off from the beck in the woods on the other side of the road (in Thornaby) there is a water tunnel that lays underneath the A19 but Isn't open so you can't get into it.
The Hole hole is 8ft by 15ft and is around a ft deep in places so you will get stuck ( I did ) Its location is private and off the beaten track so the only means of reaching it are by a self made footpath (which you will have to fight through over grown tree's and shrubs to reach.
The Mud hole is quiet and out of the way and offers the prefect place to go for a roll around and wrestle in without onlookers it could hole up to 5 persons easyily if they were all wanting to get seriously covered.
Tho there is no clear running water your best bet is to either take clean clothing with you or head down the track the way you came and head back into thornaby's woods via low lane to get cleaned up, there is another tunnel with water in it to clean your footwear off but you would need to walk close to the A19 road side to reach it and being covered in mud would draw attention to yourself so its not worth it.
