Harperleas Reservoir Fife
To the west of the reservoir is a section that leads into a stream and this is the best section for really deep mud. I used to visit this place very regularly in my wellies and get completed mucky as hell. Can wash it off in the water too before getting back to the car.
It's along the side of a rambling path so it's occupied with passers by during the afternoon and weekends, but is usually deserted on summer/autumn evenings. This was my favourite mudding and wellie adventure playground for years till I moved away.
