Mirfeild Woods
Submitted by Anonymous on 13 July, 2010 - 14:18.Just outside the town of Mirfeild in near Leeds is a lovely yet quiet woodland area next to a rather large golf course tho the path leading to the nearly forgotten spring is very well trodden and well worth a crawl on your chest like some army training course its once you entre the woods from the top and work you way down.
Total Privacy with Deep Mud!!
Submitted by mudjoker8301 on 29 March, 2010 - 17:02.There is a forest preserve off Illinois Rt 71 called Lyon County. I just came back from there. The place was unusually empty for the time of day...so I suggest going around 1030-12 noon. There are a bunch of little creeks that wind through one section of trails--leaving a muddy "road" to Lyon Creek. Just follow the mud roads (you'll have to go off the walking trail and through some bush to get to these mini-creeks) to Lyon Creek. Most of the mud is deep and sloppy. I got stuck a few times.
Floodplain "Ricklinger Masch" Hannover, Germany
Submitted by Wolfselb on 25 March, 2010 - 21:19.Close to the well known "Maschsee" of Hanover lies the Area called "Ricklinger Kiesteiche" . Between these two areas youll find the Floodplain of the River "Ihme"
A muddy wilderness beside the River. Unfortunately is the surrounding area a preferred playground for dogs and their owners. So you have to wait for the evening.
The area is partly paled to save some fishponds.
For more information, don't hesitate to contact me.

hampstead heath
Submitted by muddyskin on 18 September, 2009 - 10:23.At the bottom of the heath, just over from the stream bit, turn left and follow the stream.. you will find one of the foot bridges, then just past it, you will find a shallow deep mud pit (created by myself a few years back!)
The mud is high in iron content, so in daylight it appears orange. At night tho, when i usually go, the mud is thick and gloopy, and once past the smell, it is perfect mud for wallowing in. be warned tho, high iron content mud will stain gear, so wear something industrial or thick pvc...
Barry - Porthkerry Park - Farmer Fields n Woodland
Submitted by Anonymous on 5 May, 2009 - 06:13.Location is Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan. Its a good spot for mudding throughout the woods. Its a public park. The best deep spot is a walk out of park and up into the fields following a public footpath to where ive found a real deep spot of mud. Around knee deep in place. One or two areas tho are definitely deeper but have not tried them out as do not own any waders
Preston
Submitted by muddyjosh on 12 January, 2009 - 20:24.This is a narrow bit of deep smooth mud alongside a canal so its got some good water to clean up in :) its quite private and u need to go through a filed of cows to get there. ive got up over the waist but reckon you could go deeper. there's some shallow bits as well. Its also near some more mud which is thicker and not as deep. It is tidal so make sure you check them first otherwise no mud just water :(
Butt Mountain Mud
Submitted by Anonymous on 9 January, 2009 - 21:20.This area is the Jefferson National Forest near Pembroke, Virginia, United States. It's full of forestry service roads that are pitted with mud holes, and or clay bank areas that when alot of rain has fallen and traffic is heavy, such as during hunting season, get churned up rather well. We had an exception wet fall and early winter that coincided with the hunting season that produced some spectacular results.
These areas are public and pose a challenge to access as you never know when someone might happen by.
Fuchsmuehle (Hilpoltstein, Bavaria, Germany)
Submitted by DeepMud on 4 January, 2009 - 10:06.Next one - I did not find enough time yesterday to submit this spot at once with my other location - but this will keep Mudboy busy :-)
Hofstetten (Hilpoltstein, Bavaria, Germany)
Submitted by DeepMud on 3 January, 2009 - 16:10.I run this one under "farm" as the location is used as fish pond during summer times, but becomes a swampy area during late autumn and early spring. The dark grey mud is soft and the place is just above knee deep in specific locations (waders are advisable) - otherwise wellies are OK, if your pants should stay nice and dry :-)
