Old claypit used as landfill site

Description of the location

This was excellent when I was last there about 2004,   and there is clearly water and presumably deep mud on the satellite imagery at the time of posting this.    There is also some reasonably good mud in the nearby woods and just beyond the edge of the claypit,  it was nearly a foot deep just inside the edge of the woods where i have put the pin.

The trick is to go there when they are not working.  There was no perimeter fence for the site when i was there, i think there is a stream in the wood to the southwest of the pin, clearly there is water in the pit, unclear whether it is possible to wash in the water but not get dirty again getting out of the water.  I would guess August15 for the date of the image, so there is water even at the driest time of year.
Close to a major motoring through route for avoiding the M25
I  used to park to the SSW of the pin as that avoids the route used by the trucks to access the pit,  although a certain amount of orienteering ability is required to find your way to the pit!
