Sydney Olympic Park

Description of the location

Nice waist deep mangrove mud: definitely one to do to at night if you want to get dirty. A footpath for a birdwatch tower runs a little close for comfort (but also allows easy access). Only visit at low tide and just after or the whole lot will be underwater.

It should be fairly easy to find the mud from the map provided, a footpath (not shown) runs along the stem of the 'F' shaped peninsula marked.

Although the mud is great, there is nowhere to clean up afterwards. With the tide out there is only the water from the creek, and you'll get more muddy getting back to shore after cleaning yourself. take a plastic bag and change of cloths.

There is some wonderful sloppy stuff just a little way up the creek (as it crosses under homebush bay drive), but sadly right next to a footpath that lots of people use
