Thurlbear Wood

Description of the location

On the edge of the wood is usually a really good mudhole where cows are forced to cross a ditch.   Can dry up in summer but other venues a few miles away   Park with care at the entrance to the wood WHICH IS WHERE I HAVE PUT THE PIN  To get to the mud enter the wood and turn R onto the doggywalkers path and follow the path(s) anticlockwise round the edge of the wood keeping inside the wood for about half a mile.   Cows sometimes create an impressive quagmire in the field here and there is a public footpath (nothing to be seen on the ground) that goes right through the best of the mud!   As you may see on the satellite image there is a huge brown smudge in the 4th field to the north, I have shot some really good photos here!

nowhere to wash, good stream about a mile south, room for 1 car to park at the stream but be careful not to get stuck
