Total Privacy with Deep Mud!!
There is a forest preserve off Illinois Rt 71 called Lyon County. I just came back from there. The place was unusually empty for the time of day...so I suggest going around 1030-12 noon. There are a bunch of little creeks that wind through one section of trails--leaving a muddy "road" to Lyon Creek. Just follow the mud roads (you'll have to go off the walking trail and through some bush to get to these mini-creeks) to Lyon Creek. Most of the mud is deep and sloppy. I got stuck a few times. But the best part is when the muddy creek ends up at bigger Lyon Creek and there is a huge mudhole like knee-deep. It was amazing. I wish I had someone to videotape/photograph me so I had pictures to put up. And the thing is when I came out the forest preserve to clean up at my car---NO ONE AROUND!! Any guy living in SW Suburban Chicago, IL has got to try this place out. And let me know if you need company! :)
