TELFORD MUD

Not sure if there are any fellow mudders in the Telford area in Shropshire, but during the past month, I have found several great mudding areas near Telford. All are accessable via Public footpaths, but at least 3 of the spots are well secluded from the paths. One of the spots I discovered during my last visit a few days ago, was about 2x2 metres and turned out to be around 4ft 6ins deep, of very thick grey sticky mud!!! I'm 6ft tall, and struggled to get out, but it was great fun.

Quarry at Broom, near Evesham

I went to have a look at this place today, seeing as a few people have posted pictures of themselves visiting there. However, I followed the directions on the 'muddy places' page (down the old railway line and under the tunnel), but couldn't get into the site - it's very overgrown.

How do others get there, which areas do you use and where do you park up?

I did get muddy but over in a public wood near Warwick, and I had to be quick as there was the possibility of dog walkers around!

secluded mud inside m25

The site is located near Dartford on the eastern side of the River Darent:

The area is subject to huge tidal variations so that the mud is only accessible within 2 hours of low tide - use North Woolwich from the below link and add an hour for Daylight Savings.

the creek will fully submerge under 2m of water 3 hours after low tide allowing full clean up. there are also freshwater dykes nearby if required.

- at 3 hours the creek will submerge under 2m of water facilitating clean up.

Mud adventure

Went for a play the other night in a local spot nice knee deep sloppy black mud, decided to go for an explore,  found some red mud, was good consistency, had some fun, going waste deep, then grabbed my stuff to go home and clean up, the red was good fun but awkward to get off, I know look like I've had an accident with some fake tan. Not sure I'll go there red put again, but will go to the black as its awesome.
